Go Kolad

26th July 2015

Early morning alarm rang. What!? Did I really fix it for 4 am?
"Oh! Its that day."

The day had come, when I was gonna tick one more activity of my #BucketList.

I got up with excitement, full of enthusiasm; I was going White Water Rafting. I squealed but with zeal, rushed to kitchen to cook my breakfast and got ready to be on time at my pick up point.

My Trip

There was a group of around 35 to 40 people and I was to be picked up from Kalamboli “Mc Donalds”. I had signed up with the Mask Group for this activity with my 9 friends to enjoy and make some more new friends.

We had breakfast on the way and reached Kolad in around 1.5 hours from my place.

After reaching, we had to sign consent forms followed by an introductory session of all in the group, then a brief on water rafting; on How, What, Do’s and Don’ts, Safety & Precautionary measures, tips etc. We were then given our respective rafting cum safety gears like floaters, helmets, peddles post which we all assembled for a cool pic showing off our newly done avatar.

Then we were divided into random groups, each of 10 members and were given 1 guide each; who then took us to our rafts where he again gave us additional instructions and acquainted us with rafting details.

We, the group had to take the raft up to the Kundalika river ourselves and after reaching there before starting on with our adventurous ride, we clicked some more pictures.

The best part was that our guide had the water proof safety bag to keep safe our cameras / mobiles and that means lots of pictures during the rafting. Nonetheless, he was pretty cool too.

Then began our journey. The water, the weather and the serene surrounding; we were just loving it. With frequent rapids and as our rafts moved, swirled and jumped, the adrenaline rush was unstoppable.

I was high on adventure and smiling with unfathomable joy. At the verge of rafting we all jumped in water and swam. I do not know to swim so I certainly was floating, courtesy floaters that we were wearing and my friends too never left my side.

After the water masti we got back to our raft and paddled it to our destination singing & humming hindi and nepali (courtesy our nepali guide) songs.

After taking our raft to the end point we bid adieu to our rafts and then ran towards the vada pav corner and after doing little pet puja we walked towards the bus and drove to Pooja farms which was booked for changing and buffet lunch.

After lunch we started back for Mumbai singing, chatting & some sleeping and with only one halt in between for tea.

After reaching my place, I bid adieu to my friends with happy memories and with a promise that we will do more trips together.
